It was a grey morning and I so hated going to work early! Weather (in Europe!) does affect your mood! But when I met this female patient (she's 48 and doesn't look like it!), my day felt better, just knowing a bit about her. Well, she's 'clinically' complicated, she's got lots going on: Early signs of Multiple Sclerosis, on the top of several health problems that I'd rather not enumerate anymore as it's really depressing... But despite of these multiple maladies, she's one of the liveliest person I've ever met. Very bubbly attitude, and very sweet... we even had a laugh together as I was preparing her for her surgery... What an amazing woman, I said to myself... Very inspirational..

As a nurse, with long stretch of experience dealing with people, I could easily grasp emotions, whether it's an 'honest' display or a cover up. This woman is genuinely relaxed and easy going.. I was joking to her that this kind of relaxed attitude is probably her strongest weapon, battling the "wrinkles"... and she just laughed...

I wish people take her as a good example of strength.. That the brain (when you have conditioned it to a positive drive) will overrule everything. It may not give you a hundred percent cure of your health problems, but it does help you rise above so many adversaries and even propel you to faster recovery or give you a stamina to cope.

Will power. This woman has got it!
